Roger The Dodger

Roger the Dodger was no ordinary dog – he was A.S. Chimney’s dog!

When he was not trying to chase all aspects of the UK’s wildlife, trying to climb trees or causing mischievous mayhem, Roger played a very important role in our business. He regularly came out with us on installations and sat patiently in the cab waiting for his master to return. His only needs were a little bit of a fuss from time to time or a biscuit or two.

Why was Roger so important?

Chimney installation work can be stressful at times. Inevitably work does not always go to plan due in part to hidden problems which may only be discovered when the work starts. Regardless of the stresses and strains of the work we do, Roger was always there with a happy face and a wagging tail. So even on the most challenging days, the boost our little dog gave to our team morale cannot be underestimated. Whether it’s loving or just plainly insane, Roger had this unique ability to make you smile.

Sadly, Roger passed after a short illness, a true friend and companion for 14 years – he is greatly missed.

Say hello to Ginny…

But … Roger trained his girlfriend and apprentice ‘Ginny’ – who now takes up the reins!

Although more office based than Roger, she still enjoys days out in one of the vans and can usually be found at home providing close personal protection and pest control by just chasing her favourite toy …a rubber ring called ‘precious’ !
